The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and the Guangzhou Panyu Economy & Trade Promotion Bureau, China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 23rd, 2014 at Jaipur, India. The MoU was signed in order to establish a mutually beneficial relationship by strengthening cooperation in economy, trade and investment, and to enhance collaboration between GJEPC and PY ETP in the jewellery industry.
The MoU was signed by the Regional Director of GJEPC, Sanjay Singh and Dy. Director of Guangzhou Panyu Economy & Trade Promotion Bureau Li Rong, in the presence of Vice Chairman of GJEPC Pankaj Kumar Parekh and Regional Chairman Rajiv Jain.
The MOU ensures special benefits to the gems and jewellery industry of Jaipur considering that Jaipur is a hub of coloured gemstones manufacturing and China is a big market, with a growing demand, for coloured gemstones.
A seminar on “Your Gateway to the China Gemstones Market” was also organised to apprise exporters of the facilities being offered by the Panyu Government. The Vice Mayor of Panyu District Government Chen De Jun, in his speech, invited the Indian exporters to visit Panyu on a sponsored trip from Hong Kong during September Hong Kong show to take a first look of China Gems Center. Indian exporters present expressed their keen interest in availing of this business opportunity.
