Pear-shaped Rings

Takat Goes Green
Inspired by nature and the timeless beauty of trees, the Green Collection launched by Takat Gems India at the Jaipur Jewellery Show 2007, consists of chandelier earrings replicating the thick stems and branches of trees in 22 karat gold, encrusted with leaves of emeralds and rubellites. Prices range from Rs.275,520 ($7,000) to Rs.504,700 ($12,807) and the collection is available at the company’s retail outlet in Jaipur.

New-Delhi based designers Gaurav and Ritu Khanna have launched their coloured stone brand The Gem Legacy at their flagship store in Saket. The collection in precious and semi-precious stones dressed with diamonds in gold, boasts of an exquisite range of enamelled pieces. New-age designers, the Khannas have added touches of contemporary and international styling, so the pieces can be worn with western as well as traditional outfits.
 
Lucera’s Valentine Celebration
Renaissance Retail Venture’s sterling silver jewellery brand Lucera, unveiled its Valentine’s Day Collection to celebrate love and oneness in two tone effects. The collection comes in delicate and exquisite heart-shaped designs with studded champagne diamonds, solitaires, cubic zirconias, pink tourmalines in gold and sterling silver. The collection offers a spread of 35 designs in silver ranging from Rs.650 ($16) to Rs.1,500 ($38), and 20 designs in gold and diamond between Rs.2,700 ($68) and Rs.20,000 ($507). Tugging at emotions, designer Shobha Asar, at her recently inaugurated boutique in Mumbai, showcases her new line titled Love & Envy. Asar has attempted to marry purity with passion by innovatively using a combination of rubies to denote the blush of first love and emeralds to signify envy evoked in the darker shades of love.
 
Playing with Pearls
H. Ajoomal’s new earring collection uses South Sea pearls in various hues from ‘optic white’ to ‘deep honey gold’, ‘champagne’ and ‘chocolate brown’ to combine linear, light shapes and feminine motifs. The collection includes black pearl earrings in monochromatic shades, encrusted with pave black and white diamonds and grey Tahitian pearls. The pearl earrings in a new shade of chocolate outlined with diamonds, come in classic silhouette with solitaire rose cuts framed in black enamelled borders. The 18-karat yellow gold traditional danglers are aesthetically arranged with marquise emeralds, golden South Sea pearls and rose cut and full cut diamonds, while its white South Sea pearls inspired by oriental designs, are surrounded with round and baguette diamonds in 18-karat white gold.
