The intensive Design and Manufacturing Technology programme culminates with a six months graduating project in which each student designs and manufactures his/her own jewellery. The completion of this graduating project leads to a graduating show – IIGJ Glimpz.

'IIGJ Glimpz 2012’ is an annual event arranged for the students and by the students. This event is attended by Management of Diamonds, Gems and jewellery industry as well as jewellery designers in Mumbai. Through this event IIGJ provides a platform for the students where, students get an opportunity to display their collection and interact & present before the industry their potentials. This year the students had designed their jewellery based on theme – Inspiration which was showcased to the audience through a fashion show performed by the students under the guidance of the in-house faculty.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the renowned jewellery designer - Varuna D Jani – Director , Varuna D Jani Fine Jewellery Pvt ltd.  Amongst the other dignitaries present were Chairman of IIGJ – Mr. Vasant Mehta, Ms. Namita Pandya – Convener IIGJ (Tardeo), Mr. Prabir Chatterjee– Advisory Board Member (IIGJ).

After the Inauguration the Chief Guest – Ms. Varuna D Jani took special interest in guiding the students personally whilst  appreciating  the design and manufacturing skills of the students. An instant career opportunity was given to the students for their excellent talent by the Chief Guest.  Ms. Richa Doshi a student from the graduating batch was selected on the spot for the VOW Initiative Program organized by Varuna D Jani Fine Jewellery Pvt Ltd.

IIGJ Glimpz 2012 is an important mile stone in any student’s life and these professionals over the years will extend memorable influence in an industry, which is perceptions and life style oriented.
