The India International Jewellery Show, which is India’s numero uno trade fair for the gems and jewellery sector, and amongst the top five in the world, has once again proved its popularity as the most important date on the show calendar for the country’s gems and jewellery industry. What is more, the banner now encompasses two shows – IIJS Premiere and IIJS Signature; and has a third sibling, the India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME), which, as its name suggests is a trade fair showcasing the latest equipment, machinery and technology for the industry.\r\n\r\nThe IGJME will be held concurrently with the IIJS Signature show from February 13-16, 2020; and the IIJS Premiere will be held from August 6-10, 2020.\r\n\r\nThe Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, the organisers of the show, recently summarised the status of the two IIJS shows. Affirming that the shows had received “Overwhelming Response” for stall applications, the GJEPC said that both shows had seen an increase of 123% in the number of applications received over last year. While IIJS Signature has 225 applications from new companies; IIJS Premiere has 90% companies and 100% stalls over last year, under the discount offer (extended a few months back by GJEPC taking into consideration the challenges faced by the industry). Also, while a demand of 200 plus stalls was generated for IIJS Signature, for IIJS Premiere 150 plus new companies have applied under the discount offer.\r\n\r\nToday, the GJEPC said, a massive 3,500 stalls were booked in just 20 days flat for the two IIJS shows! An achievement indeed!\r\n\r\nIIJS has become, as the GJEPC summarises “The Most Trusted Brand in Indian Jewellery Shows”.\r\n\r\nThe brand has achieved this position through both a visionary outlook and sheer hardwork of the GJEPC over the decades, and has evolved from its small early beginnings to become a well-known mega brand both in India and abroad.
