Swarovski Restructuring Continues; Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert Appointed Company-wide Creative Director

In a significant move that forms part of its overall restructuring process, Swarovski, a leading name in global jewellery and fashion accessories, has appointed Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, well known Italian creative director, editor and fashion consultant as its first ever company-wide creative director.

Engelbert will oversee the full creative direction of Swarovski and reimagine the product portfolio across all divisions with the first products designed under her direct leadership scheduled to be showcased in the spring/summer 2021 collection.

During her career spanning over 20 years of in fashion, Engelbert has worked with many leading brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors, Christian Dior, Max Mara, Tory Burch and Lacoste. Since 2016, she has already been consulting for Swarovski Professional in the B2B space.

Announcing the new appointment, Robert Buchbauer, recently appointed CEO said: “Our 125-year history is witness for the power of our company to transform and reinvent itself and I am pleased to welcome a brilliant creative mind and strong female leader like Giovanna to our company. The appointment is part of a larger restructuring process with Swarovski aiming to realign its business along a new vision and growth strategy.
