Taché Company and Samir Gems jointly announced the purchase of the 29.59 cts fancy pink diamond, “The Rose of Kao” which was recently put up for sale.

“The diamond was purchased at an undisclosed price by a partnership between Taché Company and Samir Gems,” the statement said.

The stone was found in July of last year at Namakwa Diamond’s flagship Kao mine in Lesotho.

Under the purchase deal, Namakwa Diamonds will retain an “ownership percentage” in the diamond, and will thus be participating in the “added value of the polished outcome” it was announced.

“This form of collaboration, linking the miner to high end jewellery brands, is a path Taché and Samir, have already successfully ventured on,” the statement said in conclusion.
