What's new at IIJS 2010

1. Prestigious Accolade |
|
|
IIJS 2010 has been conferred the 'Made In India' status
by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. This prestigious accolade
is in recognition of the stature of IIJS as India's largest international jewellery
show with world-class standards and with an increasing overseas presence. The government
is shortly launching an international 'Made in India' campaign to showcase India's
impressive capabilities in the manufacturing sector, including its potential as
a global jewellery hub.

2. Special Product Section for ONLY Loose Stones (Diamonds & Color gemstones) |
|
|
In
order to bring focus to our Loose Section in Hall # 1, this change has been implemented
for the convenience of loose stone buyers. This section will feature companies who
will ONLY be exhibiting Loose Stones (i.e. loose Diamonds & loose Gemstones) and
exhibitors will comprise of Indian companies, international Pavilions from Israel,
Belgium, Thailand and other individual international companies who will ONLY be
exhibiting loose stones at their booths.

3. Exclusive Product Gallery for International Visitors |
|
|
This Special Product Gallery
is being specially created at the Mezzanine floor of Hall # 1 with lounging facilities
only for Int'l clientele. This Gallery will feature India's select companies in
loose diamonds, loose gemstones, mass produced plain gold & studded gold jewellery.
These exhibitors will be mainly from SEZ's such as SEEPZ, Sitapura, and Noida as
well as others (EOU's and the DTA) having substantial export turnover and extra
ordinary capabilities in producing hi-end designs; quality and finishing specifically
for the US, Europe and Middle East regions.

IIJS Signature Goa

The third edition of IIJS Signature is scheduled from 19th to 22nd February, 2010,
in Goa. This 'by-invitation-only' niche Show organized by the Gems and Jewellery
Export Promotional Council (GJEPC) promises to be beneficial for the industry with
international delegations from countries like Armenia, Bangladesh, Dubai, Russia,
Poland, Iran, Syria, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Israel. The Show has around
80 international and 350 domestic visitors, close to 47 exhibitors and the Council
also concluded a successful Road Show in Dubai.

This year, IIJS Signature boasts of a separate section featuring loose diamonds
and colored stones manufacturers who will be presenting a wide range of diamonds
in every shape and size, certified by the world’s leading labs such as Gemmological
Institute of America (GIA), Independent Gemmological Laboratories, Inc. (IGL), HRD
Antwerp, and the likes.

Some of the other attractions at Show include "Meet Your Match Online", a unique
Buyer-Seller interface that allows buyers to preview products and companies to enable
shortlist potential suppliers in advance and "Your Pick of 'Recession-proof' jewellery"
and loose stones from the most competitive centres.

Notice for members to beware of construct data/exhibitors fair guide

Members are requested not to sign or send or make any payment to construct data/exhibitors
fair guide for free listing/publicity to attract buyers.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
They have sent letters and emails to the GJEPC members who have exhibited at IDCS
2009 & IIJS 2009.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The bottom of the letter states by signing and returning this letter you are responsible
for a payment to them for US$ 1,717 per year for the next 3 years. In the past,
some members have signed and returned this order without reading the complete letter
and have been harassed with collection/outstanding letters and threats of legal
action.
|
|
|
|
The Council does not have any contact or contract with these fake companies for
any type of promotions and recommends you to ignore all communications from them
unless you intend to get into a contract with them. Members are requested not to
be misled by any false claims from such organizations.
