Get High on Love -- and Diamonds -- This Valentine’s Day!

If couples are constantly seeking new ways to express their love on Valentine’s Day, marketeers are continuously looking to offer fresh propositions with which to woo their clientele.

While jewellery may not be a novel gift, the “packaging” of this piece  definitely is.

Iron Cactus Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar in Austin, Texas – that wild west US state where everything’s got to be the biggest and the best – has come up with a bright and beautiful idea. It is offering, as it says, a special margarita which features Patrón Platinum Tequila, Grand Marnier Centenaire, fresh squeezed lime juice, and 100% organic agave Nectar – Ok, fancy but straight enough one might say. But wait, all this..... highlighted by a pair of dangling earrings!

The earrings,  designed and hand crafted by renowned jewellery designer, Zoltan David have 260 D-colour, flawless diamonds weighing 3.75 carats. The designer dubbed his creation “Vision Earrings”; the Bar is calling the sparkling, glamorous margarita “Vision for Valentine's”. All this for the stupendous price of US $30,000! Only in Austin.

Iron Cactus is also offering the services of a “romance expert”, who will ensure that the couple “enjoy a truly, unforgettable and romantic evening” says a press release from the Bar.

"We wanted to give our guests an opportunity to enjoy a unique, memorable, romantic Valentine's with their dates," said Gary Manley, General Partner at Iron Cactus. "Nothing says 'I Love You' more to that special someone than sharing a delicious margarita with sparkling diamond earrings that your date can wear and take home."

"These are the sexiest earrings I've ever seen on a woman," said Zoltan David.

Prince Charmings in other places might be eating their heart out to be done out of such a unique, if expensive way, to express their love; but for those in India, specifically  Surat, there is still hope. A recent media report spoke of a jewellery shop in Surat which was shining up a pair of shoes with 12,000 diamonds.  Another jewellery designer  – in Delhi –   made a diamond studded shoelace clip, it is reported. This is not all, diamond studded accessories – from phones, to  belt buckles to watches (of course!) to bags and shoes, are becoming all the rage, not just abroad but in India as well. All of which can make great gifts – budget permitting.

So it does seem that presenting diamonds are the best form of expressing love, and you can do it in new age ways as well!
