ALROSA Group earned revenue of US$ 504 million from sales of rough and polished diamonds during the month of January 2018. The miner reported positive trends in the major sales markets during the month, backed by higher prices for polished diamonds.

Rough diamond sales by value during the month amounted to US$ 499 million, ALROSA said, while polished diamond sales totalled US$ 5.5 million.

ALROSA Deputy CEO Yury Okoemov commented, “Earlier this year, we have seen good demand for the whole assortment of our diamond products. It was supported by positive trends in the major sales markets backed by good retail sales results in 2017, including the Christmas season, and growing polished diamond prices in January.”
