Sergey Ivanov, the new President of PJSC ALROSA led a delegation of the Company on a working visit to Antwerp, Belgium.   

At the Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC), Ivanov, accompanied by   Andrey Yurin, Head of the Gokhran of Russia, was welcomed by the President of AWDC’s Board of Directors   Stéphane Fischler, the Vice President of AWDC’s Board of Directors   Nishit Parikh and several members of AWDC’s management team.

“The high-level visit focused on the longstanding cooperation between ALROSA and the AWDC, reconfirming their privileged relationship and discussing the current and future outlook for the rough diamond market,” AWDC said regarding the visit in a press statement.

In 2013, ALROSA and AWDC had entered into a agreement for cooperation in the areas of promotion of the diamond trade, interaction on the Kimberley Process, the implementation of educational programmes and the exchange of information.

ALROSA, in a separate release stated: “The parties negotiated further development of bilateral cooperation between ALROSA and AWDC. In particular, the possibility of the company's participation in the events dedicated to the 570th anniversary of the diamond trade of Antwerp to be celebrated in 2017-2018, was discussed.”

While in Antwerp, the ALROSA delegation conducted a meeting with the leadership of the Beurs Voor Diamanthandel, a diamond exchange in Antwerp, as well.

Also on the agenda was a visit to AWDC’s Diamond Office which “which registers all the rough and polished diamond export-import operations in Belgium”, ALROSA said.
