Alrosa Releases HI 2015 Financial Results and Social & Environmental Report 2014

Alrosa reported today that its H1 2015 revenue amounted to RUB 131.9 bn, an increase of 26% as compared to the same period last year.   The Company’s EBITDA grew by 49% y-o-y and reached RUB 70.5 bn with EBITDA margin going up to 53%.

Alrosa announced a net profit of RUB 47.4 bn for H1 2015; a growth of 2.1x y-o-y. Free cash flow in H1 2015 increased by 72% y-o-y and amounted to RUB 35.4 bn due to higher operating profit, the Company reported.

Andrey Zharkov, PJSC Alrosa CEO, commented: “FX market environment continues to have positive impact on Alrosa’s financial results. The Company notes a steady increase in demand for diamond jewellery in the USA. Less active diamond jewellery market in Asia is a result of deterioration of the macroeconomic situation in the region. Alrosa's forecast for rough diamond demand is a conservative one, though the market is expected to pick up by year-end 2015.”

Meanwhile Alrosa had yesterday released its Social and Environmental Report for 2014.

“Alrosa encourages stable social and environmental development all across its footprint investing heavily in social infrastructure maintenance and offering financial support to childcare, educational and research, cultural and sporting institutions,” the Company said in a press release announcing the report. “In 2014, Alrosa’s social expenses exceeded RUB 5.7 billion.”

The Alrosa Group has under its umbrella over 40,000 people, most of whom are   residents of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). “For many years, the Company has been running corporate social programmes, including health care for employees and their families, home purchase support, cultural and sports events,” Alrosa said. “In 2014, ALROSA invested over RUB 3.2 billion in social programmes for personnel.”

Alrosa stressed its attention to environmental protection too, and the sustainable use of natural resources and reduction of environmental footprint. “The Company’s total environmental spending amounted to about RUB 6 billion in 2014,” Alrosa announced.
