Andrey Zharkov Voted In As President of Alrosa

Alrosa’s Supervisory Board, at its meeting held on 23 April 2015, voted to elect Andrey Vyacheslavovich Zharkov as President of the Company. “The contract with Andrey Zharkov is signed for a period of three years,” the company announced.

Zharkov comes to Alrosa after having served as deputy head of Gokhran, a precious metals and gems repository under the Russian Ministry of Finance, and chairman of the Board of Directors at Kristall Production Corporation from 2010 to date.

His prior assignments included a short stint as  chief commercial officer at Prioksky Non-Ferrous Metals Plant and he was also on the Board of Directors of Novosibirsk Refinery Plant. Earlier, he was project manager at RUSAL Global Management B.V. and project manager at En+ Management.

Zharkov, born on 11 February 1973 in Geneva, graduated from Moscow State Linguistic University with a degree in foreign languages; in 1998, he obtained a degree in accounting and auditing from Moscow State University of Commerce.
