BDB and GJNRF Launch Emergency Medical Centre at Mumbai Bourse

The Emergency Medical Centre (EMC) set up by the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in association with Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation (GJNRF) in the Bourse complex at BKC, Mumbai was formally inaugurated on Sept 9. The centre will be run by Asian Heart Institute and Research Centre.

The new centre was launched by Arunkumar R. Mehta of Rosy Blue, a doyen of the diamond industry and Guest of Honour Dr. Ramakanta Panda, Vice Chairman & Managing Director and Chief Consultant for Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery of Asian Heart Institute. Other prominent diamantaires at the event included Anoop Mehta, President, BDB; Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, GJNRF; Ketan Parikh, Managing Trustee, GJNRF and Sanjay Kothari, KGK.

Set up within the complex for the sole and exclusive benefit of bourse members, the centre will provide emergency medical services, basic medical treatment and consultation.

Delivering the welome address, Anoop Mehta said, “It is an honour to have Dr. Ramakanta Panda. He is one of the leading heart specialists in the country. EMC will be looked after by his able staff. EMC will cater to all types of medical emergencies and treatments in the campus.”
Dr. Panda in his speech assured good medical treatment to the members of BDB.

Located at D Tower, centre core ground floor adjacent to the Convenience Store, the newly inaugurated centre is equipped with latest medical facilities and trained staff from Asian Heart Institute and Research Centre. From Monday to Saturday a General Physician, Physiotherapist and Dentist will be available from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm to provide services to BDB Members and their staff. Consultations by Cardiologist, Gynaecologist, Orthopedic, Nephrologist and Diabetologist will be held once a week as per a  pre-announced monthly schedule. In addition, sample collection centre for blood and urine. Ambulance will be provided for emergency cases at free of cost to Asian Heart Hospital.
