Botswana Diamonds Provides Exploration Update

Botswana Diamonds PLC in its update on the exploration being conducted   in Botswana has reported some heartening results. The fieldwork was carried out by Sunland Minerals, a joint venture between Botswana Diamonds and Alrosa. A  combined team of geologists conducted the fieldwork  on Prospecting Licences PLs 206-210 in the Orapa region.

“Work on the ground comprised of heavy concentrate sampling of soil, hard rock sampling, in-field mineralogical analysis, electromagnetic surveying and ground magnetic surveying,” the Company said in a press statement.

The results of the follow-up analysis conducted by the joint venture team “highlight a strong geological anomaly on PL210, considered prospective for the discovery of kimberlite and will be drilled in September 2015” the Company added.

However, further work is required at both PL206 and 207, to establish the source of the kimberlite indicator minerals.

“In addition to the next stage of exploration in Orapa, work will also begin in Gope on PLs 135 and 136 where two magnetic anomalies have been identified,” the Company announced.

John Teeling, Executive Chairman, Botswana Diamonds commented: "We have identified a very strong anomaly on PL210, which we will drill.  The new ground that we have acquired in Gope also looks very promising.  The ongoing joint venture with Alrosa goes from strength to strength."
