BVC Handles First Export Parcel Through Electronic Data Interchange in PCCCC

BVC Clearance, part of the BVC Group with over five decades of experience in precious cargo logistics, has handled the first successful customs clearance in the country using the Indian Customs Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) System in Precious Cargo Customs Clearance Centre (PCCCC). The parcel contained cut and polished diamonds to a company in New Zealand and was sent by Venus Jewels. The documentation for the parcel was done entirely through the EDIsystem.

Uday Chinai and Bharat Badani of BVC Clearance said, “It’s a momentous day for BVC Clearance as we have achieved a major milestone in the logistics industry for the PCCCC. The EDI went through with the support of the Venus Jewels who have always believed in technological advancement and have been pioneers in the IT evolution of the industry. We believe that EDI in precious cargo clearance will further enhance trade and enable transparency in the entire process.”

Rajesh Shah, Partner of Venus Jewels commented, “This has been a great achievement for the entire diamond and jewellery industry. It is set to overhaul all redundant processes. It’s a moment of pride for us at Venus Jewels for having been the first organisation that could participate in the EDI process."
