Diamonds, Emeralds and Rubies Shine at BAFTA and Grammy Awards

Diamond and gemstone studded jewellery, particularly emeralds and rubies were the most popular choice of the stars at the BAFTA and Grammy Award nites both of which happened over the second weekend of February in Britain and the USA respectively.

At the British event, Felicity Jones wore stunning ruby earrings, while Rosamund Pike was seen with an impressive pair of emerald earrings by Bulgari. At the same event, big stars like Reese Witherspoon, Stella McCartney and Julianne Moore were seen with amethyst and ruby jewellery.

Green emeralds were also popular at the Grammy’s with Beyoncé and Lady Gaga both donning creations from Lorraine Schwartz which had large and distinct emeralds and diamonds. Reports say that Beyoncé had 80-carat Colombian emerald-and-diamond chandelier earrings and over 100-carats of emerald and diamond rings, while Lady  Gaga is said to have had 45-carat drop earrings and a pendant necklace.

Taylor Swift wore Lorraine Schwartz jewellery reportedly worth about $1 million, including black opal paraiba earrings and matching black opal rings. Rihanna sported an 81.88-carat platinum-set diamond necklace by Chopard, while Katy Perry had on a Harry Kotlar fancy canary yellow diamond ring worth a reported $2 mn.
