Dominion Diamond Corporation, which has a 40% stake in the Diavik Diamond Mine has released latest figures for the mine’s mineral reserves and resources updated till December 31, 2015. The statement said that the figures are on a 100% basis for the mine.

The statement says that current mineral reserves from open pit and underground mining at Diavik stand at 52.8 mn carats with an estimated yield of 2.8 cts per tonne. This includes proven and probable reserves of 32 mn cts and 20.9 mn carats respectively.

Total proven reserves in Open Pits stand at 10 million carats, while the proven and probable reserves in the underground mine stands at 42.6 mn cts.

Dominion said that all depletions due to production and sampling, as well forecasted mining losses and dilution have been taken into account in the calculations.
