DRC Techno Launches J-Ssecure to Detect Synthetic Diamonds in Jewellery

DRC Techno, a Surat based Research & Development company that is affiliated to the Dharmanandan Diamonds group has launched the J-Secure, a new device for detection of synthetic diamonds used in jewellery. The company describes it as the "World's first instrument that detects synthetic diamonds in studded jewellery".

The company says that it will be able to effectively detect lab grown synthetic diamonds of practically all sizes and shapes including both CVD and HPHT synthetics. This includes lab-grown synthetic diamonds from 0.003Cts (+0000 sieve size) to 10 cts as well as colourless or near colourless lab grown synthetic diamonds set in jewellery.

J Secure is an automated system that can be easily operated after udergoing basic training.

Elaborating on the importance of the new device, DRC says that effective screening of jewellery at the final stage in the diamond pipeline will ensure that the chances of undisclosed synthetics contaminating the natural diamond pipeline become negligble. It adds that the J Secure can also become an important tool to boost consumer confidence, as it can even be installed at showrooms like a karatmeter that is currently used for gold purity testing.

J-Secure is priced at $ 17,999, and a more advanced J-Secure Plus that also effectively screens loose diamonds is available for $ 20,999.

The machine can be delivered within 4-6 weeks and comes with a warranty for one year, or 2,000 hours of operation, whichever occurs earlier.
