Fashion Event, Awards Nite and Trends Seminar Among Highlights of VOD

The four day Vicenzaoro Dubai show which concluded at Dubai yesterday had a number of well-attended high profile events including a Catwalk Event that featured stunning jewellery from various global brands, the first Jewellery Celebration Awards and a Trendvision Jewellery+ Forecasting seminar.

The catwalk event and awards nite was a celebration of the very best in jewellery design, innovation and retail and a recognition of the brands and the individuals who have played a leading role in shaping the landscape of the region’s jewellery industry. Models showcased some stunning jewellery designs from globally recognised brands.

The evening was attended by Matteo Marzotto, President of Fiera di Vicenza, Diego Cortese, VP of Corporate Strategy Dubai World Trade Centre, Corrado Facco, Managing Director of Fiera di Vicenza and Vice- Chairman of DV Global Link, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Liborio Stellino, Roberto Coin, and Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman of GJEPC, among others.

Among those honoured for their contribution to the industry were Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman of the DGJG, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, Amit Dhamani, CEO of Dhamani, Shamlal Ahmad MP, MD, International Operations, Malabar Group, Siroya Chandra Prakash, Vice-Chairman of DGJG, Vinmalidas Dhakan, Founder, National Jeweller and Harshad Mehta, Founder, 7Cs Group.

Speaking on the occasion, Corrado Facco, commented: “We are delighted to introduce the Vicenzaoro Dubai Jewellery Celebration Awards which honour the individuals and the brands who have shaped the gold and precious gem landscape in the Middle East.  We are celebrating not only their contribution to the industry so far, but their dedication and commitment to opening new chapters for the jewellery and luxury industry.”

Another popular event was the Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting seminar that discussed shares the latest industry trends, consumer profiles and production dynamics for the jewellery sector in the 2016-17 season, and an overview of the international jewellery sector.

Some of the product directions highlighted for jewellery include contrasts of strong minimalistic tendencies, as well as opulence and eye-catching styles. Within the understated ‘less is more’ field, edgy and fluid are the stand-out directions, transforming into geometric shapes and patterns, or delicate and organic lines.
