GJSCI to Introduce Online Learning Courses for Jewellery Sales Associates

The Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) is taking its skill development programmes to a new level with the upcoming launch of digital learning courses for jewellery retail sales associates through an online platform.

The course covers key topics, including the basics of gold and jewellery products, selling process, customer service along with others. The training will be imparted through e-learning, classroom training as well as on-the-job modules. It will facilitate self training for individuals who are already employed and cannot attend regular courses or workshops.

The platform is expected to go live early August and will be available in nine languages so as to be accessible even to those working in smaller towns and remote locations.

GJSCI Chairman Premkumar Kothari said, “We have introduced the first one-of-its-kind digital learning platform in our segment designed to meet adult learning needs and styles. We have developed 117 job roles and created National Occupational Standards for training, assessment and student manuals, which will be used as a benchmark for training in our industry."
