Glittering Finale to IIJW 2015

The 6th India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) came to a spectacular end on the evening of August 6 with a grand finale that featured some of the most outstanding pieces from the different jewellers and brands that had participated in the event, as well as a special sequence with jewellery from the Thai Gems and Jewellery Traders Association.

The audience, which included Chief Guest Ms Rita A. Teaotia, Commerce Secretary, Government of India and Guest of Honour Paul Rowley from De Beers, watched in awe as GJEPC brand ambassador Sonam Kapoor made a grand appearance. It was the culmination of an amazing display of the best jewellery that had been seen on the ramp over the past few days including armbands, cuffs, haathphools, maang tikas, kamarbandhs besides earrings rings and pendants.

Attired in a lavender coloured Shyamal and Bhumika lehenga with a long trailing dupatta, the actress adorned a heavy vintage pearl and gold bracelet with matching ring and a lavish pair of jhumkas from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers.

Earlier, the highlight of the TGJTA show was the appearance of showstopper Kanishtha Dhankhar in a gorgeous intricately designed necklace studded with an array of coloured gemstones. The TGJTA sequence featured some exquisite jewellery crafted with rubies, emeralds and other gemstones.
