GSI Enters Botswana, Launches its 9th International Lab

Gemological Science International (GSI), a well-known international gemmological laboratory, has opened a new laboratory in Gaborone, Botswana. This is the company’s 9th international laboratory.

The diamond producing African nation thus became the fifth country in the lab’s global network. It already has operations in USA, Israel, Antwerp and india.

Mark Gershburg, CEO of GSI said: “After decades of just mining rough diamonds, Botswana's capital Gaborone now cuts, polishes and sells the diamond which creates a demand for gemological laboratories and education.”

He added, “GSI brings to Gaborone the same high level of diamond grading, consistency and customer service we have in all GSI laboratories worldwide.”

In addition, GSI Gaborone plans to establish educational programmes, courses and seminars.
