Gemological Science International (GSI) will be introducing diamond education services for gem and jewellery industry professionals at its Surat branch from July 2015 onwards. The GSI Knowledge Center will conduct the courses and the curriculum will focus on providing industry-specific technical training at all levels with the aim of helping the industry to maximise the quality of grading services.

The first course at the laboratory’s Knowledge Center will be a six-day “Fundamental Diamond Grading” certificate course that begins on July 12, 2015. The course will cover the following modules: Handling Lab Equipment; Determining Cut Grade; Determining Clarity Grade;    Determining Color Grade; Overview of Synthetics and Treatments; Diamond Pricing and Practical Examination.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive certificates from the GSI Headquarters in New York.
