The 2016 editions of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will be held from March 1-5 and March 3-7 respectively, the organisers have announced.

The two fairs constitute one of the world’s largest jewellery marketplaces, with the 2015 editions attracting a record-breaking 4,360 exhibitors from 52 countries and regions, and 76,000 visitors from 140 countries and regions.

The 2016 editions of the twin shows are expected to have around 4,400 exhibitors with about 34 country and group pavilions. There are also eight themed zones covering key market segments – the Hall of Fame with top-tier international brand names; Hall of Extraordinary for high-end fine jewellery pieces; World of Glamour for Hong Kong-based exhibitors; Antique & Vintage Jewellery Galleria with classic jewellery from bygone times and Treasures of Craftsmanship featuring carvings from precious/semi-precious stones, gold or silver decorative items, precious ornaments and jewelled accessories. Other special themed zones are Designer Galleria, Hall of Jade Jewellery, and Hall of Time.

New pavilions that will be debuting in 2016 include Wedding Bijoux for bridal jewellery, and  T-GOLD+ METS, co-organised by HKTDC, HKJJA and Fiera di Vicenza, featuring international professional jewellery and watch making machinery, equipment, technology and supplies.

The Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will be segmented into Hall of Fine Diamonds with carat-size loose diamonds; Treasures of Nature with precious stones in many different cuts; Treasures of Ocean featuring a wide variety of quality pearls; and Rough Stones & Minerals to showcase unpolished and uncut precious stones and gems.

Prize winning entries at the 17th edition of The Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition and the biennial Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition will also be on display.
