The International Gemological Institute (IGI) hosted a 3-day Buyer-Seller Knowledge Meet in Goa from June 9th to June 12th, 2016.

This was the 6th edition of the Meet which was earlier held in cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Jaipur.

The Meet featured a panel discussion on the identification of synthetic diamonds; other industry related issues like excise and taxation, were also discussed. 

Apart from imparting knowledge, the D-Show -- as it is called -- also offered participants from across the country, the chance to meet and network with prospective buyers. The three-day meet witnessed participation of retailers from all five zones of the country.

The three days of the D-Show had the potential for forging long-term business relationships that go way beyond a single sale transaction. These one-on-one interactions also ensured that various challenges are discussed and solutions arrived at in real time. IGI also disseminated valuable information on current industry challenges, like lab grown diamonds and the recent changes in the industry’s taxation laws.”
