IIGJ, Andheri Conducts Gold Appraisal Training Programme

Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Andheri conducted a two-day Gold Jewellery Appraisal and Valuation Programme for the staff of Shriram Transport Finance Co. Ltd. on October 29-30. The 19 participants were shown the different techniques for assaying gold with emphasis on the touch stone method of testing, and were trained to identify fake jewellery from genuine gold jewellery.

Though all of them had prior experience in valuation of jewellery, they were unanimous that they had gained new insights from this course. Dr. Seema Shah, Head, IIGJ Mumbai said: “The course sharpened the skills of the participants and enhanced their ability to spot fake gold jewellery.

The course was conducted by HOD of Manufacturing Uttamkumar Das, supported by manufacturing faculty Milind Kadam and Nitin Ahire.
