The India Pavilion at Baselworld 2015 will host some of the country’s leading manufacturer-exporters of loose diamonds, gemstones and jewellery who will be showcasing special goods and collections designed for the European market, the GJEPC, which organises the Pavilion, said in a statement.

The Pavilion will comprise two sections – exhibitors of loose diamonds and gemstones who will be in Hall No 3.1, and jewellery exhibitors who will be in Hall No 2.1. A total of 11 companies are participating in the Pavilion.

A unique highlight of the Pavilion this year will be the ‘India Palace’, where the pieces that were adjudged winners at the recently concluded Artisan Awards 2014, a premium Indian jewellery design competition, will be displayed. This is the first time that jewellery created by award winning Indian designers will be showcased at a global exhibition like Baselworld. The GJEPC says that this “gives maximum exposure to the best designers and paves way for their further growth”.

Vipul Shah, GJEPC Chairman said, “Europe is a significant trade partner for India, and Baselworld is the optimum platform to create awareness of BRAND India and interact with key international players from across the globe. This year, we will be showcasing the high standards of craftsmanship of Indian manufacturers along with the unmatched creativity of our designers. We will promote India as the Ultimate Design Destination.”
