JJS 2015 Inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister

The 13th edition of the Jaipur Jewellery Show, one of the largest jewellery shows in the country was inaugurated on December 19th  by Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt Vasundhara Raje in the presence of GJEPC Chairman Praveenshankar Pandya and leading members of the industry. JJS Brand Ambassador Amrita Rao was also present on the occasion.

The show will run at the JECC, Sitapura, Jaipur from 19th to 22nd December. This year the show is focused on the theme Ruby - Red, Rare and Royal.

Congratulating the industry for all it has done for the development of the state, Smt Raje urged the jewellers to adopt modern business practices and technology to complement the centuries old skills of the artisans.

Praveenshankar Pandya said that the GJEPC would like to ensure that there is greater direct interaction between miners and manufacturers of coloured gemstones. He said that the Council would propose the setting up of a Special Notified Zone for trading rough coloured gemstones in Jaipur along the lines of the SNZ for rough diamonds that had been established in Mumbai.

Nearly 730 exhibitors are taking part in the four day event displaying a wide range of coloured gemstones and jewellery, as well as machinery and services related to the trade.
