Kalyan Jewellers’ Flagship Showroom in Chennai Inaugurated With Fanfare

Kalyan Jewellers inaugurated its flagship showroom in Chennai in the presence of its brand ambassadors, superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Other stars of the celluloid firmament attending the much-awaited inauguration included  Prabhu Ganesan, Nagarjuna, Shivaraj Kumar, Manju Warrier and Vikram Prabhu.  This showroom is the 50th store of the retailer in South India and its 78th, globally.

The stars were overwhelmed by the massive crowd gathered for the inauguration and the scale on which it was held. “Thundering applause and loud whistles greeted the celebrities as they walked towards the stage outside the showroom,” the jeweller said in a press release.

Amitabh Bachchan, who was the cynosure of  all eyes despite the presence of so many other stars spoke in Tamil saying, "I have worn the 'vesti' on my own and want to greet my Tamil 'Vaadiyar' Prabhu.”

He added, "I have been associated with the Tamil film industry for the last forty years including (with) superstars like Sivaji Ganesan. I am happy to be a part of the Kalyan Jewellers launch in Chennai."

Daughter-in-law Aishwarya said: "I have always had a special bond with Chennai. This inauguration of Kalyan Jewellers is special as it is my first such event with my 'Paa'(Amitabh Bachchan). The inaugural store of Kalyan Jewellers in Chennai is very impressive and I encourage all Chennaites to shop for their jewellery from the 5 lakh designs available here."

Kalyan Jewellers’ massive prelaunch multimedia campaign had created widespread awareness about the event, thus attracting the massive  crowds. The showroom, the biggest in the country, boasts the world’s largest collection of gold and diamond jewellery.

 Kalyan Jewellers has announced that it will open four more showrooms, with 15,000 sq. feet each:  in Chrompet, Adyar, Vellacherry and Anna Nagar. Of these, two will be opened during the course of this financial year and two in the early part of next year. “A total of Rs. 300 crore will be invested in these four showrooms,” the retailer said.
