Leading Indian jewellery retailer Kalyan Jewellers has announced a tie-up with online e-tailer Flipkart to offer its diamond and gold jewellery through the online shopping portal. The jeweller’s products began selling through the site on February 12.

Over one thousand designs have been listed on the site. Among the products on offer are rings, pendants, earrings and necklaces ranging from Rs 3,500 to Rs 2 lakh, the jeweller said.  Some of these have been exclusively created for the online store, it added.

Announcing the launch, Kalyan Jewellers Chairman and MD T S Kalyanaraman said that the online sales would be focused on attracting customers especially in the gifting segment.

Flipkart has been selling jewellery online for the last couple of years. It offers both precious jewellery and fashion jewellery.  Rishi Vasudev, Vice President-Fashion, Flipkart said that the jewellery segment is one of the fastest growing on the site and the Company exxpected to double the category within a year.
