Leading diamond manufacturer-exporter Kiran Gems organised a large Blood Donation Drive at its office premises in Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mumbai on July 11, 2015. The drive was organised in association with Umang Foundation, Sir J.J. Mahanagar Raktapedhi, Red Cross and St. George's Hospital. Over 1,500 blood units were collected during the day.

The drive saw participation from a wide cross section of the industry beginning with the top management of the company Vallabhbhai Patel, Chairman; Mavji Patel, MD; and Dinesh Lakhani, Rajesh Lakhani and Kalpesh Patel, Directors and including the company’s employees, their families as well as industry brokers, assorters and even employees from other companies.

The company had taken special measures to ensure that all donors were taken care of and the blood collection process was conducted under expert supervision and hygienic conditions.

Chairman Vallabhbhai Patel said, “At Kiran, we take our social responsibility very seriously. Such events help us to create awareness among our employees and the industry. We are more than willing to undertake efforts that can help save lives. Also, participation in such events gives our employees conscientious satisfaction.”
