Kiran Gems Conducts ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ at Mumbai’s Juhu Beach

Leading diamond manufacturer-exporter Kiran Gems mobilised all its 900-plus employees for a cleanliness drive conducted on Mumbai’s Juhu Beach as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative launched by the government. The drive, which was held on December 20, was spearheaded by the senior management including Chairman Vallabhbhai Patel, MD MavjibhaiPatel and Directors Dinesh Lakhani, Rajesh Lakhani and VarunLakhani.

A number of industry and non-industry patrons also supported the initiative including Chief Guests AshishShelar MLA and BJP President, Mumbai, as well as AlkaKerkar Mayor of Mumbai.

The drive was held from 8 to 11 am and the employees were divided into 47 teams so as to cover the entire stretch of the beach. Each team was fully equipped with cleaning equipment and safety gear.

At the end of the drive, awards were distributed to the six best performing groups and 20 most outstanding individuals.

AshishShelar said, "It is indeed commendable that a private company like Kiran Gems is coming forward and taking part in the initiative with such huge numbers of employees."

Mavji Patel commented: "This is our country and we should care for it. I appreciate every employee’s effort today and congratulate them."
