Lucara Diamond Corp’s Senior Vice President, Anthony George has joined Lundin Gold Inc. as Vice President Project Development. The latter company is also part of the same group that holds a majorstake in Lucara Diamond.

George will be responsible for all aspects of the feasibility study at Fruta del Norte, a gold project located in southeast Ecuador that was recently acquired by Lundin for US$240 million.

George is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in operations, project management and construction. He ommenced his career with De Beers in South Africa and Namibia and has worked with different companies on various mining projects in Canada since 1993.

At Lucara, George had played an integral part in the development and construction of the Karowe Mine.
