Leading diamond jewellery retailer Le Lumiere owned by Tomei, one of Malaysia's leading retail jewellery chains, has become the first retail jeweller in that country to join the WDM Authorised Diamond Dealer programme. An agreement confirming this was signed by Datuk Ng Yih Pyng, Le Lumiere's parent company's Managing Director and WDM Chairman Alex Popov on March 5, 2016, the World Diamond Mark (WDM) said in a release yesterday.

Commenting on the agreement, Datuk Ng said that the Company was very pleased and honoured to see Le Lumiere gain the status of the pioneer retail jeweller to attain the title of WDM Authorised Diamond Dealer in the country.

He added, “By accrediting Le Lumiere to the WDM ADD programme, we yet are taking another step in sustaining the retailer's image, contributing to the improvement of consumer confidence in diamonds and diamond jewellery, and consequently increasing sales of diamonds and diamond jewellery to our target audiences."

WDM Chairman Popov said, "By joining the WDM's efforts and by adopting the WDM's ADD programme, Le Lumiere will be making great headway in bringing back diamonds and diamond jewellery into the top performing categories in the luxury product consumer market."
