More Bang for the Buck: Celebrating Christmas in Style, Luxuriously

Just when you thought that jewellery and accessories – with the odd car trimmings and suchlike -- was the entire universe for diamonds, VeryFirstTo has introduced the world’s first diamond crackers.  No, not the type that go up in smoke – rather the ones that get put around Christmas trees and come apart with a bang spilling out their content of inexpensive trifles; the kind of crackers which are the stuff of children’s parties and childhood memories. But VeryFirstTo’s crackers are no child’s play and certainly not available for small change – a set of them (6) can cost around £1 million.

VeryFirstTo (with the tagline of “Know, Have & Do), the site which introduces consumers to luxury products and experiences, describes  this unique offering as: “Six magnificent white diamonds selected by award winning jeweller Tresor Paris, each in a distinctively different cut, feature in a set of beautifully hand-crafted crackers.”

The diamonds range from 2.5 cts to 4.0 cts, and one of the set is a special D-VVS2 Type IIA gem; and come in a variety of shapes from the oval, princess and step cut, to the round, pear and marquise. And each diamond “boasts beauty, dazzle and clarity,” the website states.

So, says the site, “Those lucky enough to attend the Christmas dinner hosted by you will be surprised to find no joke, no hat, and no plastic whistle in their crackers, just a truly magnificent diamond.”

These handmade crackers are designed and produced by specialty company House of Crackers, and are created with “exotic  paper sourced from India, super sheer ribbon from Cheshire, poinsettia flowers, and goose feathers”.

VeryFirstTo says that while the cost of setting  the diamond   “in an especially classic designed item of jewellery”, by  Tresor Paris has been factored in; more “elaborate settings” will attract  extra charges. While delivery within UK is free of charge, delivery outside UK will be made at extra cost. The site clarifies that diamonds are subject to availability at time of purchase.

On every purchase, a donation of £1000 will be made to The Prince’s Trust charity,   VeryFirstTo declares.
