More Glitter and Glitz on Day 3 of IIJW

Glitter and glitz continued to be the hallmarks of the IIJW on Day Three with some spectacular designs being showcased by on the ramp. The parade of celeb showstoppers continued and the day long programme culminated with Bollywood stars Preity Zinta and Dia Mirza showcasing some breathtaking creations from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers.

A few of the day’s highlights were:

Diosa in association with Swarovski Gemstones

The day opened in style with some captivating ornaments designed by Darshan Dave of Diosa Jewels. The pieces in sterling silver were exclusively studded with Swarovski Zirconia. It was truly a star studded show as it featured Ujwalla Raut in a choker with multiple strands, trellised earrings and bangles; Miss India Sushree Shreya Mishra in a gorgeous green zirconia and pearls necklace teamed with shoulder dusters; Mansi Scott in a double layered necklace, imposing rings and multiple rows of bangles and Sophie Choudhary in a stunning wide choker, which flowed into a giant red flower, with a tiara crown, cocktail rings and bracelets. The presentation occurred against the background of dances like Tango, Flamenco and Salsa.

AAKS Jewels

It was another dramatic presentation of exquisite jewellery with sparkling diamonds, sensational rubies, seductive emeralds, regal sapphires along with white corals and amethysts. Created by the brand’s designer Alka Kumar, the collection was an assortment of Lacy chandbalis, chokers with pearl crop edges, a shawl style pearl necklace with a cutwork gold centre, mushroom shaped earrings with neckwear and pearl chains with a floral middle. The highlight of the show was when Ms. Varsha Kumar, Director, AAKS Jewels entered with showstopper Kiara Advani.

Sunil Jewellers

The Jaipur-based jeweller presented its 'Ethnica -Fusion of Jaipur Jadau and Polki' Collection. The new concept does not have the traditional wax filling in it.
Looking resplendent in a contemporary rendition of a traditional polki necklace, Kriti Sanon walked the ramp as a showstopper.


Anand Shah presented by GSI

Couture designer Anand Shah unveiled yet another marvellous collection called “The Garden of Eden” which had 23 outstanding pieces all inspired by Nature. The highlights included a burnished gold creeper like necklace with gem tips, an angular floral head band with matching necklace and bracelet and a large peacock pendant necklace and bracelet. Many of the creations were a blend – pastel glass with 22k gold; a necklace that used strands of wool and emerald drops; beaten gold collars, a polki Raani Haar.

The grand finale saw Richa Chadda in a magnificent floral necklace that was draped over her shoulders with double jhumkhi earrings. 

Jewels by Preeti

The designer presented an exotic “Papillion” collection inspired by the delicate colourful butterfly. Extensive use of coloured gemstones gave the jewellery a vibrant look. There were necklaces and matching head gear in shimmering diamonds and polkis, and exquisite bracelets, waistbands and rings that were teamed with hair ornaments.

Other spectacular pieces were a diamond and polki “Passa”, which can be worn with western and ethnic garments ad unique Kashmiri Jhumkas, Haath Phools, armlets, temple jewellery with invisible ruby and emerald settings, all set in 18k or 22k gold.

Yoube Jewellery Ltd

The show presented a fusion of magnificent Victorian and traditional Indian elements named "Amare". The jewellery was a melange of precise cuts, stunning styles and unique jewels. Aditi Rao Hydari was the showstopper while Madhur Bhandarkar joined her on the ramp in the closing sequence.

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers

It was one more stunning show from Jaipur’s Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers as they unveiled their new collection 'Adaa', an ode to women. The show and the jewellery was inspired by six legendary Indian women, each a genuine style icon, and unfolded from the Adaa of Umrao Jaan to Jodha Bai to Maharani Gayatri Devi (the third Maharani consort of Jaipur from 1940 to 1949) and others.

In a fitting end to the show, Bollywood stars Preity Zinta and Dia Mirza were the showstoppers in the closing sequence.
