Mountain Province Diamonds to List on Nasdaq

Canada’s Mountain Province Diamonds, which currently trades on both the New York and Toronto Stock Exchanges, has been approved for listing on Nasdaq under the symbol MDM. The company statement said that trading on Nasdaq is expected to commence on Dec 31 and that the stock would continue to trade on the NYSE till Dec 30.

Mountain Province is a 49:51 partner with De Beers Canada in the GahchoKué joint-venture, which has a cluster of four diamondiferous kimberlites. Three pipes are expected to have a probable mineral reserve of 35.4 million tonnes of ore, grading 1.57 carats per tonne for total diamond content of 55.5 million carats.

Patrick Evans, the CEO of Mountain Province Diamonds, said, "We are pleased to announce our listing on the Nasdaq. We believe the move to Nasdaq will improve the visibility of our stock, enhance trading liquidity in our shares and provide us with greater exposure to institutional investors."
