Orra’s Newly Launched Mantrasiddhi Collection Includes Braille Pendant

Over a decade ago, Orra introduced The Spiritual Collection, which has become its most popular jewellery line. The jeweller recently unveiled the 17th collection under this umbrella called  “Mantrasiddhi”. A tribute to four Gods -  Ganesha, Krishna, Shiva and Surya – this collection features 10 specially crafted pendants in 18kt gold and platinum, embellished with precious stones; and with a mantra etched on it to invoke the blessings of each deity.

But what has added an altogether new dimension to the entire collection is the “Shruti Ganesha” with the mantra Om delicately etched in Braille. “The Shruti Ganesha is a one of a kind creation, never made before by any jeweller,” said Orra.

“The Shruti Ganesha is a tribute from Orra to a section of society that has been sadly ignored by the mainstream,” explained the jeweller in a press note. “While working on the Mantrasiddhi concept, the head designer got the idea en-route on her daily commute to work as she would drive by the National Association for the Blind (NAB). The concept behind the Braille pendant was to give the visually challenged a piece of jewellery that’s not just Spiritual but something they can connect to at a more personal level.”

As one can imagine, the production of the Shruti Ganeha pendant proved to be a challenging task,  as the company had to ensure that the Braille was correctly etched.

Vijay Jain, CEO, Orra, commented: “The Mantras have a great significance, while they can be said verbally and seen visually they resonate in the mind. Chanting mantras helps the visually impaired come closer to God; it helps them build a special Spiritual bond, and taking forward this ideology Orra etched the Mantras in Braille.”

Orra, with the help of the National Association for the Blind, also  created a special video which celebrates the visually impaired, and which narrates  the stories  of four children   “who have not let their lack of sight affect their vision in life”, says Orra.

Describing these vibrant children, Orra says: “Mansi is a beautiful trained singer and a pro at Abacus. Krishna is an international level Taekwando silver medalist having won against “normal” competitors and loves dancing. Taneesh the youngest of the four kids loves watching Chota Bheem like all children his age and loves pizza more than veggies. Sushant loves reading and chants the Mantras so beautifully, it will leave you awestruck.”
