Pandora Opens Manufacturing Facility in Thailand to Meet Increased Demand

As a first initiative in its long-term growth strategy, Pandora recently opened a state-of-the-art, “green” jewellery manufacturing facility in Lamphun near Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. The new facility was set up to   meet increasing demand for Pandora jewellery.

“The site in Lamphun is only the first in a line of strategic initiatives,” said says President and CEO Anders Colding Friis, Pandora. “Over the next years, we will expand production capacity at our current site in Bangkok further, investing a total of DKK 1.8 billion in the period 2015 to 2019.”

The unique aspect of the new facility – with a capacity to ultimately employ up to 5,000 people – is the combination of Pandora’s “indigenous craftsmanship” with high quality production; and better control of production costs.

The new facility will also facilitate the expansion of Pandora’s product range; while      improving lead time to delivery.

The Company says, the facility also boasts the bestworking environment and has received the LEED certificate (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design); and it meets “the highest demands regarding CSR and sustainability”.

“The facility will set new standards for the jewellery industry in terms of scale, speed, green profile and modernity,” says General Manger of the facility Lars R. Nielsen, who has fronted and led both design and construction of the new crafting facility.
