Pangolin: Malatswae Project, Botswana Receives Positive Kimberlite Indicator Analyses

Pangolin Diamonds Corp, a junior miner listed in Canada has reported that laboratory tests on the regional soil samples from its Malatswae Diamond Project in Botswana have indicated an abundance of positive kimberlitic ilmenites. The testing was carried out at the mineral laboratory of C.F. Research Ltd., Kelowna.

The company says that the preliminary tests have shown the presence of “clinopyroxenes of both eclogitic and peridotitic paragenesis from the earth’s mantle” and that the primary surface textures on the numerous indicator minerals and clinopyroxenes are indicative of proximal source.

It also stated that the ilmenites recovered from Malatswae are distinctly compared to the ilmenites from the Orapa AK1 Diamond Mine, thus confirming a separate source area. It added that the geographic distribution of the anomalously positive soil samples indicate several individual sources for the indicator minerals.

Pangolin said that it has begun detailed groundmagnetic surveys and detailed soil sampling grids to follow up these analytical results, in conjunction with the previous selection of priority aeromagnetic targets.
