Participants Pleased with Business at India Diamond Week in New York

Participants at the ongoing 2nd edition of the India Diamond Week which concludes January 15 in New York have expressed satisfaction with the business they have generated and said that the format is perfect for business to business interaction between buyers and sellers. The India Diamond Week is being organised by GJEPC in association with the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) New York. Over 70 companies including members of GJEPC from India and DDC members and companies are exhibiting at the show.

Alpesh Ahir of Bhavani Gems Pvt. Ltd., who participated in the first India Diamond Week held in August 2014 said that the company was able to take forward the contacts that had been established at that time. “I was able to pick up where I left off a few months ago and make more sales while seeing familiar faces. This is a good platform because it gives all the diamond manufacturers an opportunity to come and explore the market.”

Izhak Grum of LLD USA Inc., a member of the DDC for 39 years, also welcomed the format and its impact on business. “If you meet more people, you’ll make more sales. That’s what shows are all about.”

Reuven Kaufman, DDC President described the India Diamond Week as a “true gem” for diamond dealers. “It’s important to build on that momentum by providing shows like this for our members and participants,” he added.

First time participants at the show are even more enthusiastic about the response. Chirag Kakadia, the director of Sheetal Manufacturing Company Pvt. Ltd., said, “It’s been fantastic for companies without a presence in the United States, it’s a great gateway to enter into the marketplace.” He said this platform offers a way to get connected. “DDC has cooked the food for us. All that matters now is how we eat it.”

Chetan M. Javeri, of the India-based eponymous company, also participating for the first time, said, “I think this is a boost for business, and that we will have a positive season ahead.”
