Prima Diamond Appoints Geologist Dr. H. Cookenboo as VP, Exploration

Canadian based diamond miner Prima Diamond has announced the appointment of geologist Dr. Harrison Cookenboo as Vice President, Exploration. He is an internationally recognised expert in diamonds and kimberlites, as well as other types of mineral exploration and was part of the team that discovered diamondiferous kimberlite which is currently being developed into the world-class Gahcho Kué Diamond Mine by De Beers.

Dr. Cookenboo holds a Ph.D. and a P.Geo. (APEGBC, and APEGS). He has earlier been involved in diamond exploration in Brazil, Northern Russia and Canada, and was also involved in the discovery of Ontario’s largest diamond-bearing kimberlite.

Prima CEO/President Robert Bick said: “In the last four months, Prima has acquired an enviable inventory of diamond properties close to either Gahcho Kué in the North West Territories or Renard in Quebec and have been searching for the just the right diamond expert to lead our exploration programme.”

Prima is focused on diamond exploration in two of Canada's highly prospective diamond areas - the Slave Craton in the Northwest Territories and in the Otish Corridor in Quebec both of which host other important diamond mines.
