Rare Jewellery Studded With Coloured Argyle Diamonds Makes a Mark

Rare Colored Diamonds and Diamante Atelier recently announced “the  sale  of two one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces — one necklace and one ring, with a combined value of US$ 890,000 — to a private buyer from California”.

The announcement noted that “The necklace features 909 Princess-Cut Argyle Pink Diamonds totalling 34.81 carats and 183 Princess-Cut white diamonds totalling 5.27 carats, set in 18-karat Rose Gold. The total carat weight (TCW) is 40.08 and the gold weight is 94.92 grams. The valuation price of the necklace is $500,000.”

The note adds: “The Halo ring is anchored by a .48-carat Fancy Vivid Pink Argyle Diamond and surrounded by round white diamonds ... The stones are set in platinum and Rose Gold.”

The sale took place as a result of the buyer contacting  Harold Seigel, the founder and CEO of Rare Colored Diamonds,  a financial analyst and host of "The World Financial Report" radio show. The buyer was interested in adding diamonds to his investment portfolio, it is reported.

"It's satisfying to know that the public is becoming aware of coloured diamonds as an investment and that people are really starting to understand what we've been saying for the past 10 to 15 years," said Seigel. "This particular buyer is a savvy real-estate investor and he is now moving some of his investments into hard assets like coloured diamonds."

"These are extremely rare and important pieces," said Jose Aman, Siegel’s partner and owner of Diamante Atelier. "The necklace, alone, took 15 years to create. It's very special."
