Gokhran, Russia’s state repository of precious stones and precious metals, will be holding an auction of large natural rough diamonds – weighing 10.8 cts or more – media reports state. Only diamond manufacturers based in Russia can however, participate.

The auction, to be held on the premises of Gokhran will take place on April 12, 2016 and the final date for applications to participate in the auctions is said to be March 11.  Reports state that goods can be viewed from March 10 to April 4, and companies wishing to participate have to pay RUB 60,000 (approx US$ 800). 

Media reports also indicate that the sales target for this year is set at up to RUB 7.1 billion ($94 million).
