Sergey Ivanov Appointed New President of ALROSA

The Russian Government, by an order signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev,   appointed  Sergey Ivanov as the new President of  PJSC ALROSA. 

According to the order, published on the website of the Government, Ivanov has been appointed for a period of three years. It also notes that Andrey Zharkov’s contract  has been “terminated ahead of schedule”. 

Since   April 2016 and till his new appointment,  Ivanov  was  a  senior Vice President of Sberbank,   Russia's largest lender; before that he    headed SOGAZ, an insurance company.  He  is reported by Russian media to be the son   of  a former   Kremlin administration chief.

PJSC ALROSA   includes within its fold, the unified marketing company United Selling Organisation ALROSA; Brillianty ALROSA;  Aikhal Mining and Processing Division;  Mirny Mining and Processing Division;  Udachny Mining and Processing Division and Nyurba Mining and Processing Division.

The company's largest shareholders are Russia's Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) with a   43.9256% share;  and the Sakha Republic / Yakutia with 25% share. About  23.0739% of the shares are in free float.
