Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair to be held Oct 22-25, 2015

The third edition of the Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair, described by the organisers UBM Asia as the “largest fine jewellery event in the region”, will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre fromOctober22-25, 2015. Over 200 exhibitors from 28 countries are expected to take part, a statement from the fair authorities said. Last year’s edition of the show attracted just under 10,000 visitors.

The show is presented by UBM Exhibition Singapore Pte Ltd, a member of UBM Asia and exclusively endorsed by the Singapore Jewellers Association and the Diamond Exchange of Singapore.

The statement sad that Singapore is regarded as the third wealthiest nation in the world based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at purchasing power parity per capita. The country has 105,000 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and is poised to record the world’s highest growth of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) in the next decade.

In 2014, Singapore’s jewellery market was worth approximately US$3.5 billion.  According to the Antwerp World Diamond Centre in Belgium, approximately 184,000 carats of polished diamonds valued at US$315 million were exported from Antwerp to Singapore in the last six years, and the Singapore jewellery market is expected to grow even further in the next few years.

“The third edition of Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair will present a greater variety of jewellery, bigger surprises and more business and trading opportunities than the previous two editions,” said Paul Wan, Managing Director, UBM Exhibition Singapore Pte Ltd. “As the largest luxury destination in the world, Singapore has proven to be the ideal epicentre for staging the fair and we are confident that the upcoming edition will continue to surpass both exhibitors’ and visitors’ expectations.”
