Sotheby’s Autumn HK Sale valued at over $ 90 mn

Rare jewels at gemstones valued at over US$ 90.3 million (HK$ 740 mn) will go on sale in Hong Kong on October 7 at the auctioneer’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Autumn Sale 2014. There are over 340 lots on sale including an array of rare and important colourless and coloured diamonds according to Terry Chu, Deputy Head of Jewelry Department, Sotheby's Asia.

Among the highlights are an 8. 41-carat Internally Flawless Fancy Vivid Purple-Pink Diamond, estimated of 100 million to 120 million HK dollars; a 50.05 Carat Heart-Shaped Internally Flawless Diamond Pendant, estimated at 60 to 70 million HK dollarsand a number of rare top-quality sapphires, the official said. ze:� p;(z Hz ht:115%; mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-latin'>Similarly, the company has been processing 440 Pikoo till samples that were collected earlier this year. The results so far have been positive, according to the company, indicating that there could be multiple diamond bearing kimberlites on the site.  One sample of 209 kg ore yielded 745 diamonds, with 23 of them being ‘commercial-sized’ i.e. greater than 0.85 mm. North Arrow plans to conduct a 3,000 meter drill programme at Pikoo this year at a cost of over $1 million.
