Steady Stream of Visitors on Day One of IGJME

While many exhibitors said they were satisfied over the steady stream of visitors to the IGJME during the second half of Day One, most also expressed the hope that the numbers would increase on the 2nd and 3rd days which fell on a weekend.

“Our company and products are well known across the Indian market, especially among the large manufacturers,” said Yoav Efrat of Sarine Technologies. “But the show has given us a opoortunity to showcase some of our latest developments to a wider audience.”

He said that Sarine had quite a few visitors at their stall on Day One, but they hoped for larger numbers over the next few days. “We have some exciting products in the DiaMension range, including Sarine Light which evaluates the light performance of a polished diamond, and new advancements in the Galaxy range for inclusion mapping and integrated planning.”

At the Lexus stall which is displaying state-of-the-art products for 3600 videos and photos of polished diamonds and diamond jewellery as well as latest developments in the identification and mapping of inclusions in rough, an official said that the visitor traffic could have been better. “We are not disappointed,” he said, “but we look forward to meeting more visitors over the next two days.”

Shailesh Bavkar at the NJTPL stall said that they had not expected massive crowds on the first day, but anticipated that there would be more visitors from outside Surat over Day Two and Three. “There are many rapid changes in the technology of this industry,” he said and one of the latest developments is a new sintering machine fromSisma that they will be introducing in India shortly. “It uses 3D printer and laser techniques to manufacture jewellery via a CAD drawing using gold, silver or platinum dust. It will do away with many stages that manufacturers have to follow today.”
