Swarovski to Venture Into Fine Jewellery

Swarovski, the brand best known for its crystals used in creating everything from jewellery to accessories to Hollywood costumes, will now be stepping into the arena of fine jewellery, the company has announced.

The Austrian company has been testing the market for some time and will now launch its fine jewellery collection from June 1 this year.

The collections, inspired by nature – more specifically petals, water waves and gossamer – will be available in sterling silver and 14 karat yellow and rose gold studded with diamonds. They will be available in a range between US$125 to US$1,450.

“Fine jewelry is a natural extension of Swarovski’s jewelry expertise,” said Susan Popper, head of fine jewelry for Swarovski North America’s Consumer Goods Business. “We are bringing a fresh voice into the fine jewellery space with the backing of our globally-recognized brand, allowing us to expand Swarovski’s reach to a new group of consumers.”

The first collections to hit the market, media reports say, have been specially designed for the North American market and will be available in select Swarovski stores.
