Technology Showcase at IDE’s International Diamond Week

The Diamond Technology Zone was one of the key attractions at the just concluded International Diamond Week held at the Israel Diamond Exchange with some of the participating companies unveiling new products and technologies for the diamond industry at the show.

The Zone, which was inaugurated by Nobel Prize winner ProfDan Shechtman earlier this week, showcased some of the more advanced technologies that are currently used for fast and accurate dissemination of information about particular stones anywhere across the world.

At the inauguration, IDE Presidnet Yoram Dvash said, “Some of these companies come from technology, but most of them are diamond companies.”

Some of the products on display included the Diacam 360, a small, portable and effective camera that creates high quality 360 degree photos of the stones.

Tweezar also unveiled a diamond photography system that saves both time and money by enabling creation of quality diamond images that can be shared with clients either through cell phones or the cloud.

Dialit launched a new automatic diamond polisher that reaches polishing levels of triple X and features automatic angling. Similarly, Virtual Diamond Boutique offered a virtual platorm where users can search for and trade diamonds using video and HD photgraphy.

During the week, GIA also opened its new, expanded offices in Ramat Gan’s Diamond Exchange complex.
